So, I decided to do something I have always wanted to do and that is a skiing (and ice-climbing) road trip! I am not sure if I feel a sense of irony that I am doing this as a skier who skis on one ski, versus my two-legged regular skiing days before my accident. In some ways, I can’t cover as much ground as I used to (e.g. in the back or side-country). On the other hand, I guess I am forging new ground as an adaptive skier doing this on m own. I am in the middle of it right now, but the itinerary has been to drive from Cambridge, MA to…
- Canmore, Alberta (Sunshine Village and Lake Louise)
- Revelstoke, British Columbia (maybe day trip to Kicking Horse, Golden, BC)
- Whistler, British Columbia
- Sun Valley, Idaho
- Salt Lake City, Utah (Alta, Snowbird, maybe Park City and others)
- Jackson Hole, Wyoming
- Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado
- Telluride, Colorado
- Taos, New Mexico
…then back to Cambridge, MA because I need to travel to Martinique at the end of January. Then off to Chamonix in February, and Chile in August.
